Bill overview
This bill, the PFAS Safe Disposal Act, aims to establish federal regulations for the disposal of materials containing per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and aqueous film forming foam. It specifically prohibits the incineration of these materials unless it’s done in a way that completely eliminates PFAS emissions and complies with the Clean Air Act. The EPA will be required to create rules for storing and disposing of PFAS-containing waste, treating it as hazardous waste for enforcement purposes.
