Bill overview
The PAVE Act of 2019 requires high-ranking officials within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to receive all their healthcare – excluding emergency care – solely from the VA. This aims to ensure these officials are accountable to the system they oversee and to promote greater utilization of VA healthcare services. The bill specifically lists numerous VA officials who are subject to this requirement. It also makes changes to existing laws to reflect this new standard.
