Bill overview
The Affordable American-made Automobile Act aims to bolster the U.S. electric vehicle industry by expanding tax credits for electric vehicles, extending an existing refueling credit, and providing financial incentives for domestic battery and electric vehicle manufacturing. It increases the tax credit for new and used battery electric vehicles, reinstates and extends the refueling credit for electric vehicle charging stations, and allows the use of private activity bonds to support domestic electric vehicle and battery production facilities. The bill also seeks to stimulate demand for electric vehicles among middle-class consumers.
