Bill overview
This bill creates a tax credit to encourage the installation of mechanical insulation in buildings. The credit is 10% of the labor costs associated with installing insulation on mechanical systems that meet specific energy efficiency standards. These systems must have been in service at least one year prior to the new insulation installation and must result in a greater energy reduction than standard insulation. The credit is available through December 31, 2024, and is added to the general business credit.
