Bill overview
This bill, the Apprise Act, aims to improve how the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) implements NextGen air navigation systems. It requires the FAA to allow representatives from aviation roundtables – groups that propose new flight procedures – to participate fully in the process, on the same basis as industry or airport representatives. This will ensure that local communities impacted by these changes have a stronger voice in the planning and implementation of NextGen procedures. The FAA will also be required to report on its progress to Congress.
