This bill awards a Congressional Gold Medal to General James N. Mattis in recognition of his distinguished military career, patriotism, and dedication to the United States. Following the award, the medal will be presented to the Smithsonian Institution for display and research. The U.S. Mint may also produce bronze duplicates of the gold medal for sale.
