Bill overview
This bill, the Remote Seafood Employee Meals Tax Parity Act, aims to equalize the tax treatment of meals provided to employees working on remote fishing vessels and at certain fish processing facilities. Currently, businesses can only deduct 50% of meal expenses as a business write-off. This legislation would allow these businesses to deduct the full cost of meals provided to their employees on qualifying vessels and facilities, effectively removing the 50% limitation.
