The Broadband Speed Act aims to ensure accurate information about internet speeds is reported to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). It requires broadband providers to regularly report the speeds they can offer and establishes a penalty for providing false data. Furthermore, any new broadband infrastructure built with federal funding must provide a minimum download speed of 100 megabits per second to improve internet access across the United States.
