Bill overview
This bill officially recognizes the service of individuals who served in the United States Cadet Nurse Corps during World War II as active military service. It directs the Department of Defense to determine this service as active military and issue honorable discharges to those who served. While individuals will be honored as veterans, they will not be eligible for standard veterans’ benefits. The bill also authorizes the creation of a service medal to commemorate their contributions.
