Bill overview
The Ramp-Up Act provides grants to meat and poultry processing facilities to help them upgrade their plants and meet federal inspection requirements for interstate shipment of products. These grants, up to $100,000 each, are intended to assist facilities with necessary improvements and planning. Grant recipients must provide matching funds, except for grants awarded in 2020 or 2021, and the bill also requires reporting on grant usage and recommendations for improving the cooperative interstate shipment program.
