Bill overview
This bill, the AUTO for Veterans Act, allows eligible veterans and service members who previously received a vehicle or transportation assistance from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to qualify for a second vehicle or conveyance after a 10-year waiting period. Currently, veterans are limited to receiving only one vehicle through the VA’s automobile allowance and adaptive equipment program. The bill amends existing law to remove this restriction, enabling veterans to receive a second vehicle if they haven’t received one in the past decade. This aims to improve transportation options for veterans with disabilities.
