Bill overview
This bill, the World War I Valor Medals Review Act, directs the Secretaries of the Army and Navy to review the service records of eligible World War I veterans to determine if they should be awarded the Medal of Honor. Specifically, it focuses on African American, Asian American, Hispanic American, Jewish American, and Native American veterans who received the Distinguished Service Cross, Navy Cross, Croix de Guerre with Palm, or were recommended for the Medal of Honor during the war. If a review finds the award warranted, a recommendation will be sent to the President for consideration.
