Bill overview
The Sergeant Daniel Somers Veterans Network of Support Act of 2019 directs the Department of Veterans Affairs to establish a two-year pilot program to share information about veteran benefits and services with designated family members and friends. Volunteers transitioning from military service can designate up to 10 individuals to receive updates on VA programs and resources, including healthcare, mental health support, and community assistance. The program will collect feedback through surveys to assess its effectiveness and determine if it should be made permanent.
