Bill overview
This bill aims to give more flexibility to home health care under Medicare. Currently, a physician’s referral must include skilled nursing care for a home health plan. This bill allows an occupational therapist to conduct the initial assessment and comprehensive assessment if the referral includes occupational therapy and either physical therapy or speech language pathology, without requiring skilled nursing care.
