Bill overview
The Cybersecurity Disclosure Act of 2019 requires publicly traded companies to be more transparent about their cybersecurity oversight. Specifically, the Securities and Exchange Commission will be directed to create rules mandating that companies disclose whether any members of their board of directors or governing body have cybersecurity expertise. If no such expertise exists, the company must detail how cybersecurity considerations were factored into the selection of board nominees.
