Bill overview
The PLUM Act of 2020 aims to modernize the way information about presidential appointees in government policy and support positions is shared. It replaces the traditional ‘PLUM Book’ with a publicly accessible online directory maintained by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM). Agencies will be required to regularly update the website with accurate data, and the publication of the PLUM Book will be discontinued on January 1, 2024. This shift is intended to increase transparency and improve the accessibility of information about leadership roles within the federal government.
