The Heroes Entering Roles Of Education Service Act (HEROES Act), also known as the Troops-to-Support-Education Program, expands the Troops-to-Teachers program to support more military personnel transitioning to education careers. This bill renames the program, broadens the types of positions eligible for veterans, and increases funding to support these placements. It allows veterans to fill roles beyond just teaching, such as school resource officers and support staff, while requiring them to meet state credentialing requirements for non-teaching positions. The program also allows partnerships with charitable organizations to assist with placement.
