Bill overview
This bill, the Palestinian International Terrorism Support Prevention Act of 2019, aims to prevent foreign support for Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad. It authorizes the President to impose sanctions on foreign individuals, agencies, and states that knowingly assist these groups, including denying access to U.S. financial institutions, defense articles, and exports. The bill also directs the President to identify and sanction foreign governments repeatedly providing material support to these groups and to bar them from receiving U.S. assistance and exports. Furthermore, it requires reporting on financing and surveillance equipment used by these groups, and imposes sanctions on foreign countries that facilitate fundraising or money laundering activities.
