Bill overview
The Restoring Access to Medication Act of 2019 aims to expand the use of health savings accounts, medical savings accounts, and health flexible spending arrangements to cover over-the-counter medications. Currently, these accounts are limited to prescription drugs and insulin. This bill seeks to remove restrictions that prevent individuals from using these accounts for common medications like pain relievers, vitamins, and allergy treatments. The changes would take effect starting January 1, 2019.
