Bill overview
This bill seeks to completely eliminate the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). It proposes to repeal the Consumer Financial Protection Act of 2010, which created the CFPB, and restore any laws that were altered or removed by that act. Supporters of the bill argue that the CFPB has overreach and hinders economic growth, while critics contend it’s vital for protecting consumers from unfair financial practices.
