Bill overview
The ACCESS Act provides funding to improve access to telehealth services for residents of skilled nursing facilities and other nursing facilities during the COVID-19 public health emergency. Specifically, it allocates $50 million to the Telehealth Resource Center to help facilities adopt telehealth technologies and addresses barriers to accessing these services under Medicare and Medicaid. The bill also directs the Department of Health and Human Services to identify challenges and recommend solutions, and authorizes the Secretary to award grants to facilities for virtual visits with family and friends.
