Bill overview
The Veterans Exposed to Toxic PFAS Act aims to provide healthcare and medical services to veterans, members of the reserve components, and their family members who were stationed at military installations where they were exposed to perfluorooctanoic acid and other per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). The bill establishes a presumption of service connection for these exposures, meaning diagnosed conditions may be automatically attributed to military service. It also extends healthcare benefits to family members who resided at these installations and were potentially exposed.
