Bill overview
This bill aims to provide relief to unemployed individuals and families by adjusting how their income is calculated when determining eligibility for health insurance subsidies and other federal benefits. Specifically, it proposes to disregard any additional unemployment compensation received under the CARES Act when calculating income for premium tax credits and cost-sharing subsidies. The bill also temporarily suspends the recapture of advance payments for health insurance made in 2020 and 2021, and takes effect starting January 1, 2020.
