Bill overview
The Service Pilot Protection Act aims to improve how the Department of Defense is consulted about wind farm projects that could potentially affect military installations. Specifically, it requires the Military Aviation and Installation Assurance Siting Clearinghouse to verify whether military commanders have approved or objected to wind farm applications and to publish notification procedures. The Clearinghouse must also annually report to Congress a list of approvals and objections, along with an assessment of any impact these projects have had on military training, operations, or readiness.
