Bill overview
This bill, the Veterans Assistance Helpline Act, aims to make it easier for veterans and others eligible for benefits to access information and support. It directs the Federal Communications Commission to establish a simple, three-digit phone code that people can use to get help with veteran services and benefits offered by the Department of Veterans Affairs. The Commission will work with the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to determine the best code and ensure callers speak with a live person.
