Bill overview
The Federal Jobs Act aims to increase diversity and inclusion within the federal workforce and government procurement. It directs the Office of Personnel Management to develop a strategic plan and agencies to create diversity plans, regularly reporting on workforce demographics and employment practices. The bill also requires agencies to recruit a diverse workforce, track employee exits, and report on their efforts to support economically and socially disadvantaged businesses through contracting and grantmaking. Finally, it encourages the legislative and judicial branches to implement similar diversity initiatives.
