Bill overview
The Retired Pay Restoration Act amends the law to allow certain retired military members with service-connected disabilities to receive both their military retired pay or combat-related special pay and veterans’ disability compensation. Currently, only those with disabilities rated at 50% or higher are eligible for both without offset. This bill expands eligibility to include retirees with disabilities rated lower than 50%, and clarifies definitions related to qualified retirees and disability compensation.
