Bill overview
The Supporting Veteran Caregivers Act of 2019 aims to help family caregivers of veterans who were wrongly removed from or had their benefits reduced by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The bill requires the VA to review these cases, reinstate caregivers who were improperly removed, and restore benefits that were unfairly reduced. It also provides compensation to caregivers for the time their benefits were impacted, and requires a report on program inconsistencies.
