Bill overview
This bill changes the Internal Revenue Code to include post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in the list of injuries or illnesses for which compensation is tax-free. Currently, the tax exclusion for injuries and sickness doesn't cover PTSD. This legislation expands the exclusion to specifically include compensation received due to PTSD. The changes will apply to compensation received after the bill becomes law.
