Bill overview
This bill, the RAISE Working Families Act, creates a new refundable tax credit called the Middle Class Tax Credit to help middle-income taxpayers. The credit amount is capped at $500 (or $1,000 for joint filers) and is based on the taxpayer’s earned income. However, the credit is reduced by 2.5% of the taxpayer’s modified adjusted gross income if it exceeds $50,000 (or $100,000 for joint filers).
