Bill overview
The Choice for Every Child Act aims to give states more flexibility in how federal education funds are distributed. Specifically, it allows Title I and IDEA funds to follow low-income students and students with disabilities to the school they attend, whether it’s public, private, or a homeschool. States can choose to distribute these funds directly to the schools or directly to the parents for qualified educational expenses, supplementing non-federal resources and not supplanting them.
