Bill overview
This bill, the PACE Expanded Act, aims to increase access to and affordability of Programs of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) for Medicare beneficiaries. It allows Medicare beneficiaries to enroll in PACE programs at any time and gives states the option to extend this to Medicaid recipients. The bill also provides flexibility in how PACE programs charge premiums for non-Medicare services, establishes a process for assessing individual needs, and directs the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Innovation to test expanded eligibility models, particularly for high-need populations. Finally, it requires an evaluation of PACE’s effectiveness in rural and underserved areas.
