Bill overview
The TEAM Act aims to improve healthcare and benefits for veterans exposed to toxic substances. It expands eligibility for VA care, including hospital care, medical services, and nursing home care, for veterans who have been exposed to open burn pits, toxic substances, or identified by the Department of Defense as possibly exposed. The bill also establishes a presumption of service-connection for certain diseases linked to these exposures, and requires the VA to conduct research, train personnel, and provide resources to veterans affected by toxic exposures.
