Bill overview
The American Shores Protection Act extends a ban on oil and gas drilling off the coasts of Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina through June 30, 2032. This bill expands the existing moratorium to include the South Atlantic and Straits of Florida planning areas. It aims to protect these sensitive coastal regions from offshore drilling activities. Existing leases are not affected by this extension.
