Bill overview
The Advanced Border Coordination Act of 2022 directs the Department of Homeland Security to establish at least two Joint Operations Centers along the U.S.-Mexico border. These centers will serve as hubs for coordinating operations between federal, state, local, and tribal agencies to combat criminal activity like drug and human trafficking, terrorism, and illegal border crossings. The Centers will also facilitate information sharing and workforce coordination to improve border security efforts.
