The PROTECT Act aims to reduce the use of e-cigarettes and other emerging tobacco products among young people. It directs the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to develop and implement a comprehensive initiative, the ‘Reducing Youth Use of E-Cigarettes Initiative.’ This initiative will involve extensive research into product use, marketing strategies, and health impacts, as well as the development of prevention and cessation programs, public education campaigns, and continued funding for tobacco control efforts.
