Bill overview
The Justice for Angel Families Act expands state crime victim compensation programs to include ‘angel families’ – the immediate family members of homicide victims who were killed by unlawfully present aliens or members of international drug trafficking organizations. It also re-establishes the Victims of Immigration Crime Engagement Office within the Department of Homeland Security to provide support and resources to victims and their families affected by these crimes. The office will focus on information, referrals, and criminal history data.
