Bill overview
This bill, the Advancing Uniform Transportation Opportunities for Veterans Act, allows eligible veterans and service members who have previously received a vehicle or transportation assistance from the Department of Veterans Affairs to qualify for a second vehicle or conveyance. Currently, veterans could only receive one vehicle under the VA’s automobile allowance program. This legislation removes that restriction, permitting a second vehicle if at least 10 years have passed since the veteran last received a vehicle through the program. The goal is to improve transportation options for veterans with disabilities.
