Bill overview
The Disability Employment Incentive Act aims to encourage employers to hire and retain people with disabilities by expanding existing tax credits and deductions. Specifically, it increases the Work Opportunity Tax Credit to include individuals receiving Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) benefits, enhances the credit for vocational rehabilitation referrals and recipients, and expands the disabled access credit. The bill also increases the limits on expenditures for removing architectural and transportation barriers for people with disabilities and allows a deduction for improvements to internet and telecommunications accessibility.
