Bill overview
This bill aims to correct a potential issue in how Medicare Advantage plans are paid for by the Medicare program. Currently, a specific provision can unintentionally penalize plans that provide high-quality care to Medicare beneficiaries by limiting the maximum payment they receive. The bill changes this calculation to ensure that plans are fairly compensated for delivering excellent care, without being penalized for doing so. This adjustment will take effect starting January 1, 2022.
