Bill overview
This bill, the Protect DREAMer Confidentiality Act of 2021, aims to safeguard the privacy of individuals applying for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). It prevents the Department of Homeland Security from sharing information submitted in DACA applications with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) or Customs and Border Protection, except under very specific circumstances like preventing fraud or national security threats. The bill also prohibits DHS from referring DACA recipients to law enforcement agencies unless investigating a non-immigration related felony.
