Bill overview
The Child Care Workforce and Facilities Act of 2021 aims to increase access to quality child care by providing grants to states and tribal entities. These grants can be used to support the child care workforce through training and credentialing programs, or to build, expand, or renovate child care facilities, particularly in ‘child care deserts’ – areas with a high density of children and a shortage of available care. The bill focuses on addressing workforce shortages and improving the availability of affordable, quality child care options, especially in underserved communities.
