Bill overview
This bill creates two new programs within Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) to better support victims of human trafficking. The first, the Investigators Maintain Purposeful Awareness to Combat Trafficking Trauma Program (IMPACTT), will provide training to HSI employees and partners on recognizing and addressing the trauma they may encounter while working with trafficking victims. The second, the Victim Assistance Program, will establish a team of specialists to offer oversight, training, and direct assistance to victims, including forensic interviews and support services. Both programs are designed to improve the quality of care provided to vulnerable individuals.
