This bill, the Andrew Jackson Statue Removal Act, mandates the removal of the statue of Andrew Jackson and its base from Lafayette Square in Washington, D.C. The Department of the Interior is required to donate the statue to a museum or similar institution, with strict restrictions on its display – it cannot be displayed outdoors. If the statue is exhibited outside of a secure storage facility, ownership will revert back to the federal government.
