The Remembering Our Local Heroes Act creates a grant program within the Department of the Interior to support the construction, restoration, renovation, and maintenance of memorials honoring veterans, law enforcement officers, and firefighters. These memorials must permanently commemorate individuals or groups who have demonstrated exemplary public service or bravery. Grants cannot exceed $100,000, and recipients must provide matching funds equal to at least 50% of the grant amount.
