Bill overview
The Repatriate Our Patriots Act aims to protect veterans who served honorably and were not convicted of serious crimes from removal from the United States. It allows these ‘special veterans’ to avoid removal proceedings, cancels existing removal orders, and establishes a program to allow veterans previously removed to return as permanent residents. Furthermore, it streamlines the naturalization process for these veterans, reducing the processing time to 90 days and waiving the oath of allegiance in certain circumstances.
