Bill overview
This bill establishes the Cyber Incident Review Office within the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) to improve the nation’s cybersecurity posture. It requires critical infrastructure entities to report cybersecurity incidents, such as ransomware attacks, to CISA within specified timeframes. CISA will analyze these reports, share relevant information with the intelligence community and other stakeholders (while protecting sensitive data), and proactively identify and address cybersecurity threats. The bill also outlines procedures for determining covered incidents and establishes protections for reporting entities.
