This bill, the Veterans Cannabis Analysis, Research, and Effectiveness Act, directs the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to research the potential benefits and safety of cannabis for veterans experiencing chronic pain, post-traumatic stress disorder, and other conditions deemed appropriate by the Secretary. The VA will investigate various forms of cannabis, including different strains and delivery methods, and establish a system to preserve research data for future studies. The bill also requires the VA to develop and submit a plan for implementing this research initiative to Congress.
