Bill overview
This bill authorizes the District of Columbia to create voluntary separation incentive programs for nonjudicial employees of the District’s courts and employees of the Public Defender Service. These programs would mirror similar programs for federal employees and military personnel, offering financial incentives for employees to voluntarily leave their positions. The maximum payment any individual could receive under either program would be capped at $25,000. The Joint Committee on Judicial Administration and the Public Defender Service would be responsible for establishing and administering these programs.
