Bill overview
This bill, the Response from Executive Agencies to Congress on Time Act (REACT Act), changes how federal agencies respond to information requests from Congress. It expands the number of House and Senate members who can request information from an agency to just seven and five, respectively, and allows requests from any authorizing or permanent select committee. Agencies are now required to respond to these requests within 45 days, or a deadline specified by the requesting committee. The bill aims to improve congressional oversight by making it easier to obtain information from executive agencies.
